My latest Blessing
In March of 2013 I was helping a friend and painting her new remodeled bathroom. As the day was ending and I was just finishing up we were standing in the doorway of her kitchen and she stated she would like to lend me the money to purchase the studio I had been dreaming of for the last year! I was speechless, in tears and stunned, to say the least. I went home and thought about it for less than a day and said YES and Thank you.
That day I started a dialog with the real estate agent and the owner of the property. It took about a month but we had a closing.
Now I have a studio! I still do not have Electric, well or walls in the front of the building but, I have one room finished. I have gas heat and lights. and boy do I have looms.
I have only stapled material on the walls because I am not sure where the design is taking me. I have plans for the spring and summer to extend this room and maybe add some more windows. We will see. I just had a very strong need to get weaving.
I am ready to start the next stage of the studio. I purchased a very cool 1920's stove and bay window at a yard sale. I am going to finish off a 12 foot room on the unfinished side of the studio. Fresh bread and soup are going to be fixed this winter for my students.
Anyone want to install a window or hang drywall?
This shot was taken from the front door. As you can see, there is no electric. There is also no well. Thank goodness my looms do not need water or electic.
This is the new studio space. It is the light at the end of the tunnel. I plan on putting fabric on the walls and looms on the floor.
